Every New THing
CAD $0.00
A Golem stirs. Clay limbs creak as ancient bindings pulse with borrowed life. But they are not alone.
You are the voices that guide this lumbering form through a world that is bright, and loud, and strange.
Every moment brings new sensations. The world presses in and each moment awakens something in the clay. Its Mind is an ecosystem where your needs intertwine like roots beneath soil. When the Golem encounters the world, you must negotiate between your body’s competing demands.
What you need
- A twenty-sided die
- Clay or plasticine
- Pencils
- Paper
- 60-90 minutes
- and 3-6 friends
What you need
Players select one of six playable Aspects:
- Hunger
- Sleep
- Curiosity
- Fear
- Comfort
- Joy
Then use clay or plasticine to sculpt their image of the Golem, inspired by the essence of their Aspect.
Discover weird things
Each round, the Mind consults the Things and Weirdness tables to determine and narrate what the Golem encounters.
Example:
- Thing:Â A device with a pulsing light…
- Weirdness:Â It tastes tart and vaguely of despair…
Tell your story
- State your drive
- Explain your reasoning
- Address other Aspects
- Vote on the outcome using pieces of your Golem.
As your journey unfolds, create memory fragments to refer back to.
When it’s all over: share, describe, and discuss the journey, and whether you believe the Golem has achieved consciousness, and what that means.
